Welp, we toughed it out this semester, and here is the final cut for my animation project, The Visit. Even though it might still need some work, I think I'm fairly proud of stopping and calling it a day where it is now. It seems solid enough to turn in as my final. If I were to work on it more, I would definitely color and retouch some of the scenes that lack color and absolutely add sound effects to further enhance clarity. (I know I have been promising Professor Richardson that I would include those sound effects but alas, I fell short there.) And I really surprised myself by using Premiere Pro to create all the finalized transitions and also feel content about my work! I'm also proud of myself for actually sticking to the new and improved Scene 11. The end credits were a last-minute addition and I'd say I nailed it? :D This semester has been a really rough one and I've spent most of it stressing about this class in particular. This was an amazing learning experienc...
The last Saturday, before the class officially breaks for the Summer, our class had some special guests who'll be viewing our final projects for the first time and giving some feedback on how we could improve our film. The feeling excited the night before, finishing up the project, and feeling good about where I was able to come to, sort of dipped a bit as I received some beyond expected critiques. There were a lot of useful things that I was able to take away from the feedback although I didn't expect some words to hit harder than they should. Perhaps it was my incompleteness of one of the vital scenes that threw off the continuity and clarity of the entire film, but I've learned that they found a lot of parts to be problematic, right to the core of the animatic. They said that maybe I shouldn't have had Griffin reading the book because it gives nothing to the main plot. But a part of me wanted to push for it even more because Griffin is a dear character of mine, and h...
This week for week 12, I finished the beginning scene no. 3 where my film begins to introduce Griffin picking out a book to read. Also, for the project test, I pieced the clips I had on me using Premiere for the first time in class with the help of Prof Richardson. I learned how to use the camera and transition keyframes and the basics of Premiere Pro so I have a little background knowledge later on.
